NEVADA - LAS VEGAS Palace Station Casino

The Junque Fair was a bust!  It was 111 degrees outdoors.  Only two craft vendors, mostly old junk/antiques, how disappointing:(  Angela and I Called it a day, time to play!  So we got a little lost driving, then finally found our way to the Palace.

PALACE STATION
Is one of my favorite casinos, right off of Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas.  We swiped our players card.  I got a buy one buffet, get one free, so we did!  Lunch for two cost less than $9.00.  I had the chef make me Linguini with clams in a white sauce.  It was delicious.  Then I topped off that fantastic meal with bread pudding covered with a warm vanilla sauce and a cup of coffee to wash it all down.

Played my Pixies of the Forest slot machine.  Won enough money, so lunch was free!  You can't beat that.

I like Palace Station because the parking is fantastic, food is great and inexpensive, and it in general is a clean, non-smokey casino.

X Men Apocolypse

Alright we went and saw X Men apocolypse, there was no steak involved.  The movie was okay, but, I wouldn't go see it again.  Too much fighting, not enough of a story.  Too much character development, too.  I did like the villian, and at times, it was exciting and grabbed my attention.

Craft Fair at Silverton Casino

Had a great time at the craft fair.
Thr craft fair was wonderful for producing alot of set up ideas for our craft shows. I am trying to make it easy, 5 minute set up and break down, and Angela seems to like that idea.  Normally it takes her two hours to set up.  Not my idea of fun!

SILVERTON CASINO

One of my favorite casinos.  I love to take tourists here!  It is a spotlesly clean casino, not smokey like some of them.  They have beautiful fish tanks in which mermaids swim around in.  It is great for the kids and for the young at heart.  Next door is Bass Pro sporting goods.  Always fun to look at boats and camping equipment.

Gambling at the Silverton is fun.  They had my Survivor and a new Willy Wonka.   Willy Wonka can be addictive.  It is like the old Lord of the Rings game, but instead of three rings, you have to get 3 golden candy bar wrappers.  It is exciting to hear the sounds when one candy bar wrapper comes up, and then another.

The food is perhaps one of the best casino dinners I have had in a while.  They had a delicious top rounds steak and peel and eat shrimp.  Pretty good for the price. It was get half off, so it came to $9.00.  You cannot beat that!  And the food and service were wonderful!

Joan Jett Concert

Had a great time at the concert.
This concert was down on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, NV.

I never would have made it without my good friends, Angela, Paul and Steve.  They kept me strong.  The music was great. She played alot of her old hits, including Cherry Bomb and I Hate Myself for Loving You.  The concert lasted about an hour.  Preconcert we had the most delicious pizza on the Street.  We tried to hit it rich in some of the casinos, but to no avail.  Seems like the only ones striking it rich are the casinos.

On that note, I have to go to Mermaids Casino for the last time.  It got bought out. This makes me sad.  Where else can you get deep fried twinkies and oreos downtown.  Also, their machines pays you with real coins.  So much fun.  It was my favorite casino to bring tourists too.

Jewelry Making Day

Angela and I made lots of jewelry the other day.  Here is a small amount of what we made. I love the pull tab earrings that Angela made. I made the steam punk brooches.  We made tons of jewelry that da and had a great time.

Slots and a Movie!

Went to see Captain America Civil War yesterday. It was a nice movie with lots of action and adventure in it. It was a little slow to start or maybe just a little slow for me to figure out what it's trying to say. But I went with my friends, and they really enjoyed it. The next thing I did was hit the slots. At Aliante Casino they have my favorite slot machine, Survivor. My biggest jackpot was $2.50 for getting all coconuts. I only gamble a nickle at a time. I don't like losing:) I do enjoy playing the machines, though.

Pawn Stars Bar!

Is out of order, chronologically.  Yesterday we went to Grimaldi's to celebrate Angela's birthday.  I had a crisp cider beer, I think Angry Orchard.  It went well with the sausage pizza.  Grimaldi's taste good, but I am not a thin crust type of girl.  I prefer thick crust, and a more saucy type of pizza.  I really like Sam's club pizza.  Sorry pizza snobs, but Sams makes a great combination pizza at a reasonable price.

A few months ago we went to Pawn Stars Plaza.  The plaza is newly designed with a bunch of old Cargo Container buildings. The bar was open so we mossied in. Rick, the star of Pawn Stars was there tending bar. It freaked me out seeing him there. Kind of cool seeing him on TV for years and then finally seeing him in public.

Once again, prices were reasonable, and because Rick was there, the entertainment level was great.

The end of the vacation

Today marks the seventh day that we stayed at Lily's, and we need to go home.

I had such a delightful time being on the ranch for a week. Angela and I went shopping at Kohl's and thrift stores.

We also checked out downtown Prescott Valley. It was called Whiskey Row. What a great place to hang out. The food was reasonably priced and so were the drinks. It's a little Wild West Town. I didn't have a chance to really look at souvenirs however, in Scottsdale Arizona, I got a henna tattoo and another coin from the machine. Something to add to my collection which I have a nice large one.

Having lunch at Hula's Hawaiian restaurant

What a great lunch at Hula's Hawaiian restaurant in downtown Scottsdale, Arizona.

Scottsdale, AZ

Had a great time with my son in Scottsdale, Arizona.  It took us about 90 minutes to get there from Prescott.  We met my son for a great lunch at Hula's Hawaiian restaurant right in downtown Scottsdale. Angela had the pulled pork sandwick, and I had the pulled pork hashbrowns with eggs.  Brandon had a veggie burger, complete with sweet potato fries.

Then Angela and I got henna tattoos. That was fun.  Angela's kept peeling off.  I swear it was because she got glitter on top of it, and my tattoo didn't get any.  We also got a hand pressed coin.  You put two quarters into the machine, and a penny.  Then you turn the crank, and it imprints one of four designs onto the penny.  We each got a different design.

After that we went jewelry shopping. Angela got a nice set of hoop earrings made out of turquoise and silver. After shopping we went to an Australian bakery and had some sort of torte and coffee. We had a great time with Brandon.

Later, we dropped him off at the airport in Phoenix. Sad to see him go but I know he'll be back.  Hopefully it will be for Christmas.  I miss his positive, loving energy.

Adventure Van

Saw this in Prescott, Arizona. What a great little mini compact traveling van. It is called the Tiger. I know they are expensive and not in the budget , but what a great way to camp and travel.
This is really all I want in life, (and to not stick my hnd over photographs).  It is small, compact, you can camp overnight with or without full hookups.  The problem is, they don't make them any more.  I know I keep saying that I want a pop up top, but having the bed upstirs is fine, and I would make storage downstairs.  I have alot of pretty clothes that Angela helped me buy, and I don't want to leave them behind.  I feel wonderful in this new wardrobe.  Black was bringing me down.

So, if anyone knows where I can buy a Tiger XL like this, let me know.  It is the perfect size for me!

Lone Spur Saloon, Prescott,.AZ

Had breakfast in Prescott Arizona Kama at the lone spur Saloon. It was delicious. I had eggs. hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. The total price was $5.99. You can't beat that.

We also had a great time looking at art galleries throughout Gurley Street. Then we went to the saloon, The Birdcage Saloon and I had a beer and Angela had a diet soda.

You can spend a lot of time in downtown Prescott looking at all the great shops.

B E A D S

Our first day in Prescott Valley we made it to the bead store. Angela picked up so many wonderful beads and she made some great jewelry from it. Later on I will post some photos.
We are having a nice visit with her mom.  We had coffee out on her porch. The porch overlooks a beautiful view of the valley. People on horses  come trotting up, it really is neat.  We watched the hummingbirds flit around.  It is really quite peaceful here, and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas, NV. (Yes their really is another Las Vegas in New Mexico.)

Well today is another day, and I wonder what adventure we are going to do today:)

Road Trip

We are on our way to Prescott, Arizona. On the way I found this beautiful antique car. Love the rust. Lucy and Ruby are doing great on the back seat. Angela has done a fine job of blocking the car the front seat, so the dogs can't jump up front. We stopped at Boulder City , should go back and look at the damn someday.

This place where Angela's mom lives reminds me of the high desert in Adelanto California. I spent many weekends up there visiting my aunt and uncle.

Our new life

Well it's moving day or at least it was last month. This was a post I should have done. Do you see that tiny U-Haul storage shed that is where all my Earthly possessions are. Not a lot of stuff and I plan on giving most of that away. Why? Because I really don't need that stuff. I have a great life living the way I do. I always have something exciting going on so why bother with a bunch of material possessions.

I am proud of myself. Once U Haul set up the trailer I drove it all by myself. A big accomplishment thinking that I could never tow anything.  Who knows maybe this minor accomplishment will need to have in my own 5th wheel or a teardrop trailer. One thing always leads to another and that's what growth is all about.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, Indio Time with my mom

We had a great time at Augustine Casino. The casino is located in Indio, California. I like this casino a lot because it has a lot of interesting slot machines. But also the buffet at night time is wonderful. I believe the cost 12 or $13 for the buffet. It included Prime Rib, peel and eat shrimp and Gelato for desert.  Yum!  But you can also have the chef make your own personalized spaghetti complete with clams, scallops, shrimp and muscles. What a great deal!

I don't remember winning a fortune and neither does my mom. But it was nice that I got to spend such a wonderful day with my mother.

Happy Cinco de Mayo

We had a great time celebrating Cinco de Mayo at On the Border Mexican food. I had my favorite, a chimichanga. A chimichanga is a deep fried burrito. The deep frying gives it a sweet taste.

Afterwards, Angela and I got our pictures taken.  This is me in my new body.  I sort of like it.  What a fun place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, except for I didn't like the chips.  To light and airy.  I like a heartier taste, like a corn chip.  The salsa was good and made up for it!

Today is a Fresh Start!

We are going to start blogging daily!  This needs to be a journal of my life as I share it with others.

I share my life with others because they seem to have a bunch of brilliant ideas to try.  Plus they seem to be angels watching out for me.  They make sure I am having fun.  Good friends are worth their weight in gold!

So, what kind of wacky adventures are up my sleeve?  We are planning so many things: ghost busting, painting a barn, going to casinos, starting a jewelry business, etc.

So, sit back and hold on, because it is going to be a looney adventure:)
